What is laser surgery and how can it help your pet?

A surgical laser can be used instead of a scalpel in almost any soft tissue surgery, such as the removal of skin tumours.

As the highly-focused laser cuts through the tissue, nerve endings, blood vessels, capillaries and lymphatics are cauterized. The instantaneous sealing of endings and vessels means there is a reduced risk of infection, less bleeding and less swelling. Crucially, there is also less pain.
