Pet Wellbeing Services: Behavioural Counselling

Learn how we can help with unwanted pet behaviours

Behavioural counselling determines whether problems, such as unnecessary barking, separation anxiety, jumping up, not coming when called and destructive chewing and digging, are a training problem or something deeper—a behavioural problem.

Training problems are corrected with easy-to-follow training techniques. A behavioural problem in a pet must be consistently managed by the entire household, working together to change the behaviour. Sometimes the use of medication is required.

At the behavioural counselling session, we’ll ask you for a history of your pet’s behaviour, and we may require blood or urine tests to establish a diagnosis. We’ll discuss a treatment plan with you so you can confidently work with your pet to change their behaviour for the better.
